Tableau Custom Shapes as filters- Part 2 (Custom shapes as filters)

In the blogpost "Tableau Custom Shapes - Part 1 (How to make custom shapes)" I created some shapes that I will now use to show how you can use images as filters. The examples shown in this post are made on Tableau's own "Superstore" dataset. For an introduction to understand my starting point, read the blogpost "Tableau Custom Shapes - Part 1 (How to make custom shapes)".

Here is what you need to do:

1) Open a new dashboard and drag the sheet "Performance" onto the dashboard. I choose this one because it includes the same dimensions as my shapes are made on.

2) Drag the sheet in which you made the custom shapes into the dashboard - "I have renamed this to "Filter Images". I choose to remove the header, but it is not necessary.

3) Resize and choose "Use as filter". Now you can click on the pictures/shapes to filter on your departments .
